EXPORT CONTROL
Export Control Regulation of Encryption Technology
iS5 Communications products contain encryption technologies that may be subject to Canadian export control regulations as with all Canadian exports of certain encryption technologies, the Government of Canada may require permits in order for certain of iS5 Communication’s products to be exported. Currently, these may include various iS5 Communication products.
To assist in the permit application process for the export of products containing such technologies, the Government of Canada may require that an “End User Statement” be provided from customers utilizing this technology. This will be submitted to Canadian export control officials when the application for a permit is given to them to assure the government that the exports from Canada will not be diverted to illegitimate end-uses.
In addition, these same regulations may prohibit any exports from Canada to a small number of countries unless authorized by an export permit issued by the Canadian government.
To help understand the Canadian export control decision process, please refer to the web page of the Export Control Division of the Canadian Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade at http://www.international.gc.ca/controls-controles/index.aspx.
