HSR-PRP

High-availability Seamless Redundancy (HSR) is a redundancy protocol that:

provides short switchover time in case of failure,
provides seamless failover against failure of any single network component
allows to chain nodes for cost effective networking,
allows complex ring topology,
is easily implemented in hardware,
supports deterministic transmission of highest priority frames, and
is standardized as per IEC 62439-3 Clause 5

The following CLI commands outline how to configure redundancy interface, redundancy / bypass mode, different types of HSR operational modes, LRE parameters, and how to verify the configuration.

redundancy
To configure interface redundancy, use the command redundancy in Global Configuration Mode.
redundancy
To configure redundancy or bypass mode, use the command redundancy in LRE Redundant Interface Configuration Mode.
mode
To configure the redundancy mode, use the command mode in LRE Redundant Interface Configuration Mode.
hsr-operational-mode
To configure the LRE HSR Operational Mode, use the command hsr-operational-mode in LRE Redundant Interface Configuration Mode.
default
To go back to the default interface redundancy configuration, use the command default in LRE Redundant Interface Configuration Mode. When a switch is back to the default interface redundancy configuration, we have LRE disabled (shut down), PRP mode, port A and B being active as well as “supervisory-expiry-time” and “proxy-expiry-time” of 60 seconds.
no shutdown
To enable the LRE, (active redundant mode), use the command no shutdown in LRE Redundant Interface Configuration Mode. By default, LRE is enabled.
shutdown
To disable the LRE, use the command shutdown in LRE Redundant Interface Configuration Mode. Weh the LRE is shut down, the RED in the Configuration Redundant mode and it is not active. Any protocol related modifications should be done when the RED is in Configuration Redundant mode.
proxy-expire-time
To configure the LRE proxy node expire time, use the command proxy-expire-time in LRE Redundant Interface Configuration Mode.
supervisory-expire-time
To configure the LRE supervisory node expire time, use the command supervisory -expire-time in LRE Redundant Interface Configuration Mode.
port
For port speed configuration, use the command port in LRE Redundant Interface Configuration Mode. Ports a and b can be enabled / disabled even during the “active” state.
debug hst-prp
To enable the trace levels for HSR-PRP, use the command debug hst-prp in Privileged EXEC Mode.
clear counters redundant
To clear the counters of the node table, use the command clear counters redundant in LRE Redundant Interface Configuration Mode.
clear interfaces redundant
To clear the counters of the redundant interface, use the command clear interfaces redundant in Global Configuration Mode.
show interfaces counters redundant
To display the redundant interface counters, use the command show interfaces counters redundant in Privileged EXEC Mode.
show redundancy
To display the LRE-specific or for all LRE node table, proxy node table, configuration, or map, use the command show redundancy in Privileged EXEC Mode.
